- The Ollie
- The ollie is the term for jumping into the air with your skateboard to clear obsticles and so on.

- Frontside and Backside
- Frontside and backside are the two names given to turning in different dirrections. Frontside
is where you turn effectivly to your left or right for goofy skaters so the front of your body faces
the way you are going at 90 degrees. Backside is the opposite where your body turns so that your back
is facing the way you are going at 90 degrees. When grinding frontside is where you ollie forward on
to the object and backside is where you ollie backwards onto the object.
- Regular
- Regular is one stance of standing on your skateboard this is where your left foot is at the front of the
skateboard and you push with your right foot whitch is then put at the back of the board.
- Goofy
- Goofy is another way of pushing on your skateboard it is the opposite to regular where your right foot is at
the front of the skateboard and you push with your left.
- Mongo
- Mongo is another way of pushing on your skateboard where you push with one foot then put it at the front of
the skateboard and leave your backfoot on the back of the board. This stance is not recomendend and if you
push this way you should try learning to push differently.
- Nose
- This is the name for the front part of your skateboard.
- Tail
- The back of your skateboard whitch you push down to ollie.
- Deck
- The main part of the skateboard whitch you stand on and is usualy wooden, sometimes metal like on the crap
metal board Hank got.
- Trucks
- The part of your board that holds the wheels on, you grind on and that allows you to turn.
- Wheels
- The circles of urethrane that role and are attached to the trucks (duh).
- Bearings
- Cages of little ball bearings inside the wheels that allow you to role.
- Risers or riser pads
- Pieces of usualy rubber that go between the deck and trucks to absorb the impact of landing, these are
oppsional and do not have to be used.
- Doh doh's, Bushings, Rubbers
- Soft or hard rubber that goes between the top and bottom of the truck and allows you to turn by squeezing
the material so it moves either way.
- Hardware or Bolts
- These are the nuts and bolts that hold the trucks to the skateboard.
- Wax
- Wax is used to make surfaces easier to grind, you rub it on the obstacle you are trying to grind and you will
find that it is a lot better for grinding on as your board/trucks slide easier.
